SRI CHAKRAVARTHY INTERNATIONAL MATRICULATION ACADEMY


Sri Chakravarthy International Matriculation Academy is a co-educational English medium, established in the year 1978. It is a recognized school affiliated to the Board of matriculation schools, Tamil Nadu. The school aims to inculcate the spirit of Truth and develop the personality and character of the students, so as to enable them to become worthy citizens. The dream of our institution is coming true, as your academy is entering into her 21st years, with Chakravarthians shining in distinguished positions, globally, in all walks of life. We have 2300 students and 100 staff - members.

 

     In the previous Academic year (1997-98) S.C.I.M.A., produced cent percent result in std X and outstanding result in std XII with many higher secondary students securing an aggregate of 95% and above.
     This institution was started by the inspiring leadership of our founder Late Mr.P.N.Arumugham.
     The school is situated in a spacious campus with 3 blocks namely Black I Nehru, II RadhaKrishnan, III Sardar Vallabai Patel comprising of classes L.K.G. to XII. We have well - equipped laboratories, library and a computer center with 100 computers. The school's infrastructural facilities cater to the needs of the Chakravarthians.

     Our aim is to build up good character based on truth and to cultivate students to spread the light to knowledge an love. 

ACADEMIC YEAR:

     The Academic year commences in June and ends in April. The school has a mid year vacation in September and December. The academic year is divided into three terms, July to September, October to December and January to April. The school functions from 9-15 a.m. to 4-00 p.m. on all days except Saturdays.

LANGUAGES OFFERED:

     The medium of instruction is English. Tamil and Hindi are offered as second languages. French is also offered for Higher secondary students. The school offers the following subjects for Higher secondary classes.

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE:

     The results highlight the excellence of the staff and the students. We have produced good results including numerous centrums and state Ranks. Here below we mention a few. STATE RANKS.

     SCIMA proudly announces that B.Jayaprakash Narayan has cored a total of 1170 / 1200 in 1997-98, Higher Secondary Examination. 29 students have scored 1100, 37 students have scored above 1000, 52 students have scored above 900.

     The institution proudly announces the 1997-98 Metric results. Sruthi Chandrasekar has scored a high total of 1014 / 1100. We also wish to inform that 2 students have got above 1000 and 34 students have got above 900.

COMPUTERS:

     The Managements has also installed 100 computers with provisions for multimedia. Tiny tots enjoy multimedia with Rhymes, Stories, Quiz and Mathematics. High School and Higher Secondary Students also enjoy Math's and Science through Multimedia.


SPORTS & GAMES:

     The institution has a spacious play ground and we provide games such as Basket ball, Foot ball, Cricket for senior students. The K.G. children are provided with sea-saw, merry-go-round, etc.,

     S.C.I.M.A. students participated in the district level chess competition. They have also won several prizes in the Inter school sports competitions, such as Kho-Kho , Kabaddi and various athletic events.

ADMISSION:

     Admission is offered on the basis of performance in the entrance exams and on the availability of seats. Admissions for Higher Secondary is based on the std X results of the applicants

     (i)  They should return the interview card after duly writing their address and affixing a stamp.

     (ii)  Original certificates should be submitted only at the time of admission. The certificates once                surrendered will not be give back under any circumstances before the issue of Transfer Certificate. Parents / Guardians are asked to take Xerox copies of original certificates before surrendering them to the school office.

     (iii) Candidates who have passed in the C.B.S.E. scheme are requested to get their T.C. counter signed by the officer besides submitting an application for evaluation affixing Rs.2/- worth court fee stamp duly signed by the parent.

     (iv) Candidates belonging to backward or schedules caste or scheduled tribes should produce a community certificate from a competent authority from the Revenue Department not lower than the rank of a Dy.Tahsilder, if the same is not recorded in the school certificates.

     (v)  Candidates appearing for interview should be accompanied by their Parent or Guardian. 

     (vi) If provisionally selected, the candidate should join immediately. The provisional admission is approval of the Educational Department.


ENTRANCE EXAMINATIONS:

     All students who seek admission from U.K.G. to IX std must write the entrance exam in English, Language, Math  and G.K. students seeking admissions for L.K.G. will have an interview on general awareness.

TRANSPORT:

     School buses and vans are available for which applications can be procured from the school office. Buses and vans ply routes on different directions. Ambal Nagar, Guindy, Adambakkam, Nanganallur, Kizhkattalai, Madipakkam, Porur, Pammal, Pallavaram & Anakaputhur etc., 


MODE OF PAYMENT OF FEES:

     (i)  School Fees and Bus fees can be paid annually in full or terminally in four installments (4 terms) as shown in the schedule, in the months of June, September, December & February before the 10th of the specified months. A find of Rs.25/- will be collected after the 10th till the end of the month between 9-30 a.m. and 2-30 p.m.

     (ii) In case of no-payment even after the end of the term, name will be struck off from the rolls and a fee of Rs.250/- have be paid for readmission

ENDOWMENTS, TROPHIES, SHIELDS, AWARDS,    INCENTIVES:

1. Students who stand first in the Matriculation Examination are given free education for Higher secondary classes.

2. Free education is given for the needy students.

3. Cash prizes are also given for students who stand school first and first in all subjects

4. Cash awards for teachers who coach the students for securing highest marks.

5. Gold ring for teachers who have served the school for 10 years.

6. A cash award of Rs.3000/- for teachers who have served the school for 15 years.

7. Late President Mr.P.N. Arumugaham Rolling Shield is awarded for versatality. 

8. Mrs. P.A. Mangalam Rolling shield is awarded for the Best academic performance.

9. Rolling shield is awarded for Discipline.

10. Rolling shield is also awarded for the Best contingent in March Past.

11. A rolling shield is also awarded for the best team which scores the highest points in sports.

12. A rolling cup is given to the best team for their team work in various other activities

13. Rolling cup is awarded for the Best Athelete.

14. A rolling shield is awarded to the Best Quiz team in memory of Mrs. Saroja Needinban.

 



EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

     Inter school computer Quiz is held every year and among them, the Best school is given a rolling shield and prizes are given a rolling shield and prizes are given for individual best performances.

     The students are put under various houses such as Blue, Red, Green and Yellow. Sports and Literary avidities are conducted among the houses and they are awarded amply for their performances.

      Several distinguished guests have honored us with their presence at our school completions including many professors. To mention a few:
