An easy method to analyze facial proportions:
Divide the face horizontally into three sections. (from the hairline to the brow, the brow to the tip of the nose, the tip of the nose to the chin) to look for the vertical proportions.
If one of the thirds is unequal, balance It with eyewear.
For instance, you can make the middle section appear shorter with a frame with a lower bridge.
RESULT: The face will appear better balanced.
Scale
Keep the scale to a person's face size.
For a small face, thin metals and subtle, transparent colors in small, thin, lightweight frames or rimless
styles are recommended. Avoid heavy oversized frames; they overwhelm delicate features.
For a large face, slightly oversized frames are a good balance.

Selecting Eye glasses:
If a child
is diagnosed for an eye disorder that requires him or her to wear eyeglasses,
make sure to pick out the right one.
The frame
fit is extremely important to ensure that the child is looking through
the correct part of the lens. When selecting take into consideration the following:
To
shorten a long nose:
Use frames with a low or colored bridge.
To lengthen a short nose:
Use frames with a high or clear bridge. Keyhole bridges add significant length.
To narrow and close-set eyes:
Use frames with clear or metal bridges that sit close to the nose and will
create the illusion of a thinner nose.
To widen close-set eyes:
Use frames with an unobtrusive bridge. A clear bridge with darker colors placed at the outside is best. Frame shapes that are narrow in width are also
a good choice as they center the eyes.
To narrow wide-set eyes:
Use glasses with a dark colored bridge. Attempt to make sure the eyes are centered.
