Popeye burst into the cartoon screen on Jan 17th 1929. since then he has gone on to become one of the greatest cartoon characters this century. He is the Spinach loving sailor that we have all come to love. His sworn enemy is Bluto who tries unfailingly to lure Olive Oyl 
(Popeye’s girl) away.
