What
to do if your Pet got Lost |

It
is a horrible thought thinking of losing a pet but
what if this happens? what should you do..... |
|
|
|
First
of all do not panic.
Animals are good at taking care of themselves so
they might come home on their own.
|
|
|
|
If
however, your pet has not come home for a couple of
hours or more report this to your local
police station. Be sure to give them a clear
description of your pet. Do tell them when
you last saw him.

|
|
|
If there
is a animal shelter close to you, be sure to report
your lost pet there as well.
|
|
|
|
Now call
your veterinarian and ask him/her about your
pet. If your pet is hurt someone might have taken
him to the veterinary clinic.
|
|
|
|
Put an
advertisement with your local
newspaper. As this involves money, talk to
your parents about placing an ad and offering
a small reward. Make sure you give a good
description and photograph (if you have one)
to the newspaper. Add you telephone number but do
not add your address as there might be all kinds of
people with different lost pets coming by!

|
Make
some posters giving details of you pet and
your phone number and put it up outside your house.
|
|
|
|
To
make sure this does not happen again or for the
first time please get your pet
a collar and an address tag so he can be
safely returned to you. |
