In time, the Hansons (as they were initially billed) had polished their act enough to land gigs at parties and state fairs, and not long afterward, they cut an indie CD, Boomerang. their single Mmmbop from their debut album was a tremendous hit and they soon had a fan following of all ages.The group also appeared on Saturday Night Live in December and sang Christmas carols for President Clinton and his family a few days later. Middle of Nowhere had sold 3.2 million copies and had become the fifth-best-selling album of the year 1997. |
