Analyzing Your Facial Shape

To use make-up effectively, you need to be aware of the exact shape of your face. To analyze
your facial shape, pull your hair back from your forehead so that you can get an overall picture
and examine your bone structure carefully in a mirror. Pick out your key features and then compare  your analysis with the five different face shapes shown below.

Square

This shape is easily is identified by its square jaw line and solid bone structure. The cheekbones
are flat and unnoticeable, while the forehead tends to be wide and angled. You might often have plum cheeks.

Make-up Tip:
Soften the angular line of your face by blending highlighter on the edge of your
face and applying blusher in the center of the cheek area. A little blusher on either side of the
forehead will also give more shape and dimension to your face.

Heart

Being narrow at the bottom and broad at the top marks this face. Your chin will be pointed and
prominent. Cheekbones may be high, but often are not so obvious because of the width of the face.

Make-up Tip: Grin at the mirror, your face will make a natural indentation just below your cheekbones and this is where you should apply your blusher. Apply highlighter along the lines of your cheekbones and blend in with blusher.
