Acne

Top

This can be a real problem for some especially for young teenagers. This should not be
confused with young teenage spots, as it usually needs medical treatment. Skin with acne tends to look very red and bumpy. On a happier note, in most cases, acne does decrease with age and often goes completely by mid teens. Also check our 'Adult Acne - home remedies' for better tips on how to prevent acne.

Tips...

a. Make absolutely sure your hands are clean every time you touch your face.
b. Don’t touch or squeeze them. Ever!
c. Don’t ever go to bed without removing your make-up.
d. Always check with a doctor if it is ok for you to wear make-up.
e. Don’t be tempted to use a cake or stick foundation over the affected area, as this will tend
to clog on the uneven parts of the akin and show up the imperfections all the more.
f. Minor spots will be hidden by simply dabbing on the area with a cover stick in a shade paler
that your foundation and blend the color into the surrounding area.

They tend to form around the eyes. They look exactly like blackheads but
because they are under the skin, the black spot never forms.
It appears as a tiny, rounded with a whitish elevation

Tips...

a. You cannot remove them yourself and the best method is to go to the beauty salon for an
    electrolysis treatment
b. Avoid the occurrence of whiteheads by using only specialized eye make-up removers,        cleansing cream or lotion.

Facial Hair

Top

We all have hair covering our faces but sometimes it just happens to show more.
Dark haired people often suffer this problem.

Tips...

a. Bleaching is very effective. This is a good way of camouflaging facial hair on the upper lip and
    sides of the face.
b. Do a patch test on your arm and leave it for an hour to make sure that there’s no irritation       before you apply the bleach to your face.
c. Tweezing must be done pretty often to avoid an untidy overgrown look. But if you plan to go  in for electrolysis later, remember that plucking hair from you upper lip will make the
electrolysis’s job more difficult later on
d. Electrolysis is the only permanent way. Go to the best electrolysis your money can offer.
Remember that electrolysis must only be undertaken by an expert.

Wrinkles

Wrinkles start to appear as your skin looses its natural elasticity anytime from the
age of thirty onwards.

scrub at your face as it might cause wrinkles.
b. An eye cream massaged gently around the eyes at night will nourish the delicate skin in this area and help prevent the formation of wrinkles.
c. To diminish lines that are already there, you simply use a cover stick a shade lighter than
    your normal foundation color.
d. With a fine brush you paint along the wrinkle line then, using feathery strokes blend into the
    surrounding areas.
