Caring  for  and Exercising your Feet

Very few people have perfect feet. Most foot problem are self-inflicted. the best way to prevent them is to care of them. Take care of your feet. They have to work hard.
Try to keep yours perfect !

Look after your feet and legs this way:

For Supple Feet...

Wash your feet in warm soapy water at least once a day. Scrub the hard skin on the soles and around the heels with a pumice or a stiff nailbrush. This will get rid of dead cells and keep your skin supple. Let cold water run on your toes to rinse them. Dry carefully between your toes. Dust your feet with talcum powder. Shake the powder into your hand first, and then smooth it over your feet.

Weekly Pedicure...

Give your feet a pedicure once a week. Cut your toenails straight across.
Do not cut into the corners. Smooth the edges with a nail file

Footwear..
Make sure that your shoes, socks and stockings are the right size and that your shoes give your feet support. Remember that slippers, gym shoes, winter boots give very little support to the muscles of the feet. Do not wear them for a long time.

Do these exercises five times every day. They will strengthen the muscles of your feet
.

1. Rest each foot in turn on your knee and circle the foot from the ankle.

2. Pick up a pencil with your toes. Try writing with the pencil between your toes.

3. Hold on to the back of a chair. Raise up on your toes, stretching the arches of your feet, then lower your heels again.

4. Rest your foot on a stool or on the end of the bath. Try to separate the big toe from the others.

5. Walking barefoot on sand or grass helps to exercise the feet, but watch out for broken glass, tins and thorns.
